Amrâth Galaxy Tower Utrecht

The construction of the Amrâth Galaxy Tower in Utrecht, with apartments and a hotel, started on May 7, 2018. During construction, we will keep you informed of the developments via this website and the newsletter. The hotel will consist of 260 hotel rooms with approximately 317 residences above in a tower of almost 90 meters!

The Amrâth Galaxy Jaarbeurshotel
The hotel is located on the bottom 7 floors of the Galaxy Tower. The hotel will be a luxury four star hotel with a full service offering that meets the wishes of the Jaarbeurs guests and that suits a city with the allure of Utrecht. It also targets tourist visitors to Utrecht. In addition to 260 hotel rooms, the hotel offers two restaurants, a bar & lounge, 3 meeting rooms, a fitness centre and wellness facilities. The hotel is located on Jaarbeursplein, at the entrance of the Jaarbeurs, opposite the Beatrix Theater and Central Station, with the city center and parking facilities nearby.

Apartments in the Galaxy Tower
Above the hotel, 317 free sector rental apartments are planned with different sizes; from small studios to penthouses. The basement is equipped with parking. The residential tower is still under development. There is no exact layout available yet. The houses will be 42 to approximately 100m2. It is not yet possible to register for these houses.

Sustainability
The Galaxy Tower has a high sustainability factor with a limited energy demand due to, among other things, the application of solar panels on the roofs and facades and the application of heat and cold storage in the ground.

The foundation

The pouring of the concrete foundation started on Wednesday 13 February. The operation took over 36 hours and approximately 600 truckloads were used to pour the 5.6 million liters of concrete.

Construction sign placement 18 July 2018

With the unveiling of the construction sign by Councilor V. Everhardt and owner K. Van Eijl, the groundwork for the realization of the Galaxy Tower on Jaarbeursplein in Utrecht officially started on 18 July.

Galaxy Tower construction commences

Monday 7 May 2018, a start was made on preparing the ground for construction. This commenced the construction period of approximately 36 months.

In the photo you can see how people are building the CSM wall in the ground. When this is ready, the excavation of the construction pit can start.

Galaxy Tower one step closer again

27 November 2016, the municipality of Utrecht and Amrâth Hotels have concluded the ground deal so that the hotel chain can start working on the realization of a complex of a hotel with houses above. It is one of the three construction projects at the so-called head of the Jaarbeurs. According to the press release, construction is planned to start in 2018 and be completed in 2021. The hotel will have approximately 250 rooms and the residences shall consist of 317 apartments. It will be as high as the City Office, ninety meters. The Amsterdam architectural firm Tangram Architekten has been selected for the design.
