We believe it is important to contribute to a better world. For this reason we follow the CSR (sustainable corporate responsibility) policy. But how do you see that reflected in our hotels as a guest?
All hotels have the Green Key Gold certification. All of our Amrâth hotels meet the highest standards for sustainability in the hospitality industry. Green Key Gold recognizes our commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility. At Amrâth Hotels, we are committed to making a positive impact on our planet while providing a fine experience for our guests.
Our hotels are already largely equipped with energy-efficient lighting. All lighting in the hotels will eventually be replaced by LED lighting. LED lighting consumes much less power and that reduces CO2 emissions, which is of course better for the environment.
When compiling our menu, we opt for sustainable products in addition to quality, taste and presentation. To us, sustainable products are products of which we know the origin. We do this together with our suppliers in order to make better choices for you as a guest, but also for the environment. To guarantee sustainability, our suppliers work with reliable quality marks and therefore with fair, organic and regional products.
At Amrâth Hôtels we use clean soap. They generally have a better cleaning effect than traditional soap and are gentler on the skin. In addition, Amrâth Hôtels chooses products with an EU Ecolabel or an ecological label!
We work together with Blycolin for our hotel linen. They also consider Corporate Social Responsibility to be very important. For example, they use less water, reduce CO2 emissions, optimize transport and use sustainable products.
Amrâth Hôtels strives for a responsible waste stream. That is why Amrâth Hôtels is committed to separating the waste that we produce as well as possible. For example, paper is reused as much as possible or separated in a separate waste bin for recycling, as is plastic. Food residues are limited as much as possible and collected in separate containers for processing.
Amrâth Hôtels works with full-service catering wholesaler Hanos, for food and non-food products. They provide our hotels with a modern fleet and an optimal logistics, but above all an efficient system. By opting for this wholesale construction, we considerably limit the number of transport movements. In addition, Amrâth Hôtels encourages guests and employees to come to the hotel by public transport. Almost our entire car fleet consists of EV models, but we also focus on walking and cycling, while enjoying some movement in our beautiful nature. All hotels have bicycles. And a large part of our hotels with their own parking facilities are equipped with charging stations for guests and employees who come to the hotel with an electric car.
Our hotels are becoming smarter with water and are trying to reduce consumption in sanitary facilities and kitchens, among other things. In our 5 star hotels we use geothermal heat through heat sources to cool when necessary and to heat at times of heat demand. In other hotels, too, we are increasingly switching to the combined use of residual heat when supplying heat and water. By using motion sensors and time switches, we also try to prevent wastage of electricity without affecting the feeling of safety for our guests.
At the local level, our hotels support various initiatives and organisations working for society, whether it is providing a post office in the neighbourhood, organising a neighbourhood drink or facilitating meetings for associations and foundations. In addition, we always aim to play an active (managerial) role in interest groups, working groups, and other initiatives that promote social development at local level.
Amrâth Hôtels collects and is a collection point for empty cartridges, mobile phones and tablets. In cooperation with Eeko, our hotels thereby encourage recycling and contribute to environmental protection. In this way, we also support the charity Clini Clowns.
To further reinforce the signed CSR statement, Amrâth Hôtels is currently working hard to obtain a sustainability label to recognize its efforts. The goal is to have all 13 hotels certified at 'Gold level' of Green Key by the first half of 2024. Green key is the international hallmark for sustainable businesses and also the largest sustainability hallmark for the tourism and leisure industry in the Netherlands. Amrâth Hôtels is happy to link its name to this organization and this hallmark.
